DMC & MCF Support Young People of Portland

The external donations committee of Dorset Masonic Care received a request from the Drop-in Portland, an independent Youth Service supporting the young people of Portland, Situated in the PTC Community Hub. They were in desperate need for funds to help purchase new furniture for the use of the children in the community hub.

DMC donated £750 to this worthy cause.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation has matched this with a further £750.

Making a total £1500 donated by DMC and the MCF working together for Dorset.

This money has allowed the Drop-in centre to purchase a new fun rung along with other useful items for the drop-in youth room. The Drop-in caters for children between the ages of 8-18. Their demographic area means they are front line in supporting Young People facing poverty, unemployment, high teenage pregnancy, one parent households, homelessness, drug & alcohol abuse, and worryingly more recently following the Covid Crisis Young People being at risk of isolation.

This is just one of the many projects supported by Freemasons across our county.

This matched funding donation from the MCF was made by possible using funds raised by Festival 25.
